If the word if not were.......

..... wenn etwas wäre, ist ein frommer Wunsch. Das Wort wenn ist überflüssig, es sei denn es heißt - ich hoffe. Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt. Also will ich wohl nicht sterben. Oder?

..... if something would be, is a pious desire. The word if is redundant, it is it is called - I hope. Hope dies last. Thus I do not want to die probably. Or?
